Earlier this year, OnePlus introduced a new OxygenOS feature called Zen Mode. This feature is available for the first time in OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. It was later released for use with other OnePlus devices such as OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. This feature is also available for OnePlus 5 / 5T and has recently been updated with OxygenOS. However, the company has now turned Zen Mode into an app and posted it on the Google Play store. Interested parties can download the app for free as long as they have a compatible OnePlus phone.
Zen Mode is similar to Digital Wellbeing on Google Pixel phones, but with some additional features. This feature allows users to disconnect their smartphones. Once enabled, Zen Mode will lock the application and stop those least important notifications. Users can only access phones, cameras, and other emergency applications. OnePlus wants users to enjoy their lives and stop overusing their phones. The app can provide up to 60 minutes of rest at a time.
Although the app is now available for download on the Play Store, it is still only compatible with OnePlus devices. However, OnePlus has released OxygenOS updates for OnePlus 6 / 6T and OnePlus 5 / 5T, including Zen mode. As of now, the app can only be installed on OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro for some reason. I hope that future updates will be available on other OnePlus devices. The company also released other apps, such as the OnePlus Gallery and Weather apps, on the Play Store.
Adding these apps to the Play Store makes OnePlus easy to provide faster updates. It can simply push new updates to standalone applications instead of including updates in new software builds. This way, all compatible phones can enjoy new features without waiting. While the built-in Zen Mode on the OnePlus device allows up to 20 minutes, the Play Store app allows users to increase this time to 30, 40 or 60 minutes. Download the Zen Mode for your OnePlus smartphone using the Play Store link in the source.
